Dixon is a graphic illustrator/ fashion designer. He is freelance artist and the owner and director of a company called THE BEARHUG. His unique style of line art has an extremely appealing ascetic to me, as it is so simple but he he manages to capture every detail of his subjects. He has a broad rage of pieces, from a bear in sunglasses to rocky.
His work covers printmaking, pencil, pen, woodwork and fashion. He mainly operates from a Facebook page but also has a website that distributes clothing and posters of his work. I think it appeals to me so much because that it is so simple but test so effective, How he can use lines to draw tone in a subjects face and capture emotion within their eyes is truly amazing and beautiful.
I think my interest and influence from this artist is much more that just the style of illustration, it reflects on similar interests to mine such as the choice of music artists, movie characters and animals. I have also tired to recreate a similar style with a drawing of Johnny cash by using a black pen. Dixon doesn’t revel much information about himself other than on his personal informal page he said “I can run really fast in my slippers”, I really think I can relate to this as he doesn’t take himself very seriously but yet can produce impressive works of art.
